Synopsis

A moony waitress at a panoramic view restaurant in suffocatingly commercial Niagara Falls and a shy croupier at a Mohawk casino find a strange way to fall in love: every weekend they dress up as a 19^th-Century tavern girl and a British soldier to perform in historical re-enactments of the War of 1812. When indigenous protests against a pipeline led by a charismatic Mohawk elder and a young, female militant disrupt the lover’s fantasy world, they must make a choice: Will they act in solidarity and risk their love or be bystanders to yet another of the injustices that have befallen First Nations people for centuries?
