Johannes Gierlinger

Gierlinger studied Digital Media & Art in Salzburg, Istanbul and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. 
His films and installations deal with memory, history and resistance as well with the forms of representation.
Within an essayistic form he explores readings, doubts and possible future images. 
Gierlingers work has been screened and exhibited at various filmfestivals and institutions like the Visions Du Réel Nyon,
CPH:DOX, Edinburgh Int. Filmfestival, Belvedere21 Vienna, Dokufest Prizren, Salzburger Kunstverein, Microscope Gallery NY,
​das weisse haus vienna, Galerie Traklhaus, Diagonale Graz, mumok Kino amongst others.
